Monique Bosley-Brooks competed in women’s track and field from 1981 to 1983. One of the most decorated track and field athletes in KU history, Bosley holds the school record in the 100-meter dash (12.24 seconds), 26 years after setting. Bosley made an immediate impact during her freshman year being named all-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. She was the PSAC Champion and record holder in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. Bosley also qualified for the AIAW Division III Championships in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. After taking a year off in 1982, Bosley returned to the track in her junior year and was named to the all-East Region in the 200-meter dash and all-PSAC team in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. In addition, Bosley anchored the 4 x 100-meter relay to a second place finish and the 4 x 400-meter relay team to a third place finish at the PSAC Championships. Bosley graduated from Temple University with a degree in early childhood and elementary education. She received her master’s degree in Administration from Temple University. Bosley is married with three children. She currently works as a Small Learning Community Coordinator within the Philadelphia School District and The Philadelphia Academies Inc.
