Joseph Kemmerer

Joseph Kemmerer was a two-time national champion at the 133-pound weight class in 2007 and 2009. He was Kutztown's first-ever wrestling national champion, and is one of two Golden Bears to be a two-time national champion. He closed out his two-season career at KU with a 60-4 record, two national titles, one regional title and one PSAC title. He was the first PSAC champion at KU since 1942. In his 2009 title run, Kemmerer was 28-1 with four pins.
 
Kemmerer graduated 10th on KU's all-time wins list and currently ranks 13th. Both of his seasons rank in the top six in single-seasons wins and winning percentage. Kemmerer, who transferred to KU after competing at UNC-Greensboro in 2004-05, was a two-time Kutztown Male Athlete of the Year.

Kemmerer is a native of Mountain Top and is a Crestwood High School graduate. He is married to his wife, Laura, and is the founder and head coach of Hammer Wrestling in Morristown, Tenn.
