Frank Orlando (1970) was a four-year starter on the baseball team playing in the outfield. Orlando, as a freshman (1966) helped the Golden Bears to their only state conference championship. He hit .372 and led his team in homers, RBIs and runs scored. As a sophomore Orlando led the team in hitting (.401), homers and RBIs. As a sophomore and junior Orlando led the Bears in three offensive categories and hit .363 and .357 respectively. Though Orlando was a top notch college athlete he earned notoriety in high school administration where he was principal at Antietam High for fourteen years. In that period Orlando was President of Berks County Interscholastic Athletics Association. He held numerous posts in the PIAA along with umpiring baseball on the high school and college level.
