KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Bieke Roovers (Leiden, Netherlands/Leonardo College) and Isabela De Nadai picked up singles wins but it wasn't enough as the Kutztown University women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to Daemen, 5-2, Monday afternoon at the Keystone Courts.
Both Roovers, last year's PSAC East Freshman of the Year, and de Nadai improved to 4-0 in dual match singles play this fall.
Roovers collected a 7-6 (3), 1-6, 10-5 win over Kitsa Scime at No. 2, while de Nadai also claimed a first set tie breaker in a 7-6 (7), 6-3 straight set win against Yinett Del Leon at No. 3.
The Wildcats (7-4) were able to get the best of the Golden Bears (1-3) in a pair of doubles matches and three singles matches. Kutztown had to default at third doubles and sixth singles.
Kutztown will close out its fall schedule at home against Eastern on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
