SCRANTON, Pa. – The Kutztown women's tennis team opened its fall portion of the 2025-26 regular season with a non-conference defeat at the University of Scranton Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore
Isabela de Nadai (Vitoria, Brazil/St. Paul's School) and freshman
Maddie Gilbert (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) represented the Golden Bears at No. 1 doubles and had the most competitive match, falling 6-4.
Nadai then went on to No. 1 singles and was the lone Golden Bear to win a set, taking the opener 6-3. But the Royals top singles player was able to respond and win the rest 6-4, 7-6. Sophomore
Kendra Yerger (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) came up just short 7-5, 6-4 at No. 5 singles and senior
Ryleigh Bohning (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) dropped her set 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
Kutztown is back in action this Friday when it travels across the state to take on Clarion for a match at 4 p.m.
