COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Kutztown field hockey junior Lorelai Lehenky (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) has been named the NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career following a standout performance in a 1-0 victory over previously No. 1-ranked Shippensburg.

Lehenky helped keep the Golden Bears (7-0) unbeaten last week, earning wins in both starts. Against Shippensburg, she made three saves, including two crucial stops on penalty corners in the fourth quarter, to record her first shutout of the season. She then started at Mansfield, playing the first 44:42 of Kutztown's 5-0 victory.

Lehenky currently leads the PSAC with a 0.00 goals-against average and a 1.000 save percentage, having yet to allow a goal this season.

The Golden Bears are back in action this evening, taking on No. 10 Millersville at 6 p.m.
