INDIANAPOLIS -- Kutztown University's
Michael Fellin (Sheppton, Pa./Marian Catholic) was officially confirmed as a NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships qualifier in the 60-meter dash, Tuesday evening.
The junior sprinter was one of 18 student-athletes selected to vie for a national championship in the event at the national meet, which will take place March 13-15 at the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis, Ind.
Fellin easily beat the NCAA provisional cut time of 7.05 in all five meets in which he competed in the 60m this winter. The Sheppton, Pa., native saved his best for last, however, establishing a new school record and winning conference gold with a 6.65 in the final of the PSAC Indoor Championships last Sunday.
Fellin's season- and career-best time was tied for the fourth-fastest in Division II this year. He was named Men's Outstanding Track Athlete as the "fastest man in the PSAC" following the Indoor Championships.
Kutztown will be represented at the national indoor meet for the second year in a row after
Joe Jardine (Mohrsville, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) claimed All-America honors in the pole vault in 2024.
Fellin will compete in preliminary heats on Thursday, March 13, at 4:15 p.m. The top eight times from prelims will advance to the final on Saturday, March 15 at 2:55 p.m.
Individuals that finish top-eight in their respective events will earn First Team All-America status, while those finishing in spots 9-12 are named Second Team All-America.
