BETHLEHEM, Pa. –
Michael Fellin (Sheppton, Pa./Marian Catholic) improved upon his program record and set a new meet record in winning gold in the 60m Sunday afternoon as Kutztown men's track & field finished fourth overall at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Championships inside Rauch Fieldhouse at Lehigh University. Fellin was also voted the PSAC's Most Outstanding Track Athlete.
Fellin, who tied his record with a 6.73 in the prelim Saturday, blazed to a 6.65, which is an NCAA provisional and tied the PSAC record, also giving KU 10 points.
Kutztown finished fourth overall out of 12 teams for the second straight year, with 81.2 team points.
Kyle Archie (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) and
Daron Haggans (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) also medaled Sunday in their respective events, each earning silver. Archie's best clearance of 2.07m (6-9.5) in the high jump is an NCAA provisional and ranks fourth all-time at KU, receiving eight team points. His mark actually tied the PSAC champion, Daniel Smith from East Stroudsburg, but Smith cleared the mark in two tries, while it took Archie three tries. Haggans also recorded eight points for the Golden Bears as his 22.21 in the 200m was good for a second-place finish. He also earned a spot in the 60m final and tallied three points, placing sixth.
Six other individuals received points and one relay team, to help KU to another top-four placing at PSACs.
TJ White (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg),
Jake Kelly (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan),
Adam Brocato (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall) and
Kyle Love (Lansdowne, Pa./Bonner-Prendergast) all finished sixth overall in the high jump, shot put, mile and 60m hurdle final, respectively.
