Another strong fall places Kutztown 13th in first 2025-26 Learfield Directors' Cup standings

CLEVELAND -- Buouyed by top five national finishes in field hockey and football, Kutztown University ranked 13th in the Learfield Directors' Cup Standings at the conclusion of the fall 2025 season, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced Tuesday.

The Golden Bears exemplified their strength and competitive balance by earning a top 15 fall ranking for the third consecutive year. Kutztown was sixth in the 2023 fall standings and 10th in the 2024.

KU totaled 191 points for the fall, led by third-place points from the football (83 points) and field hockey (55 points) teams, which each reached the semifinals of their respective NCAA Division II Championship tournaments.

Golden Bear women's cross country, which finished fifth at the NCAA DII Atlantic Region Championships, tallied 28 points and women's soccer, which qualified for the NCAA DII Championship, picked up 25 points.

Kutztown ranks second among Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) members, trailing only 11th-place Gannon (196 pts.).

NACDA will release another set of rankings on April 2, 2026, following the winter season, before the final standings are announced June 9, 2026, after the completion of the 2025-26 academic year.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the NACDA and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.

Kutztown has placed in the top 50 of the final DII standings in each of the last two years and has a top all-time finish of 16th in 2009-10.
