KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Heavy rain Sunday forced the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) to cancel the final round of its 2023 Women's Golf Championship at Berkleigh Golf Club. The tournament was declared official after 36 holes with Kutztown finishing sixth.

The Golden Bears posted a two-day total of 719 (370-349) to finish at 143-over par. They started play Saturday in seventh, but jumped Bloomsburg in the standings by two shots at the conclusion of play.

Cecelia Knecht (North Charleston, S.C./Fort Dorchester) was the top finishing KU player in 19th with a 172 (90-82), having worked her way into the top 10 with an eight-stroke improvement during Saturday's second round.

Grace Babinchak (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) was tied for 23rd with a 176 (92-84), Alexis Peet (Greentown, Pa./Wallenpaupack) tied for 33rd at 184 (94-90), Olivia Donnini (Wapwallopen, Pa./Crestwood) placed 37th at 187 (94-93) and Alexis Verdes (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) was 51st at 215 (110-105).

Kutztown also finished sixth in last year's PSAC Championship, which marked the first year the tournament came to Berkleigh.

Gannon cruised to its fourth consecutive team title with a 627 (321-306), 34 shots better than California (Pa.). West Chester (672), Mercyhurst (683) and Millersville (697) rounded out the top five.

Ditte Petersen of Gannon was the individual champion at 7-over 151 (78-73). The Golden Knights placed four players in the top six on the leaderboard.
