FLEETWOOD, Pa. – Freshman
Brooke Graham (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) shot a final round 4-over par 74 to win the Kutztown Fall Invitational at Moselem Springs Golf Club Monday afternoon. Graham, who finished with a 36-hole total of 152 (+12), has won two consecutive tournaments to open her Golden Bear career.
Â
It was a tight race at the top between Graham and the Alvernia duo of McKylie Boreman and Katie Lapinsky. Boreman entered the day with a three-shot lead over Lapinsky after an opening round 74. Graham sat four shots back after carding a 78, Sunday.
Â
Graham was consistently strong throughout the afternoon in surpassing her Golden Wolves counterparts. She sunk two birdies during a three-hole stretch between 5-8, including a two on the par 3, 145-yard No. 5 and a four on the par 5, 420-yard No. 7.
Â
After making the turn at 2-over 36, Graham drained six pars en route to a 3-over 38 on the back nine. Graham's 152 (78-74) ended up one shot better than Lapinsky's 153 (75-78) and two clear of Boreman's 154 (74-80). It was also a school 36-hole record on a par 70 course, besting the previous mark of 155 by Hope Giordano at the Sally Carrol Open at the Hannastown Golf Club back in 2014.
