BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- Freshman Ava Lewis (Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro) represented the Kutztown University women's tennis team as the PSAC Individual Championships got underway Saturday at Bloomsburg's Burt Reese Tennis Center. Lewis advanced to the second round in the singles draw before being ousted from the tournament.

In her opening match during the round of 32, Lewis defeated Shepherd's Ximena Bolanos in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.

The Camp Hill, Pa., native faced off against defending PSAC singles champion Karolin Kirchtag of IUP. Kirchtag moved onto the quarterfinals with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

The PSAC Individual Championships, which were rescheduled to this weekend after inclement weather last weekend, mark the end of Kutztown's fall season. Lewis and the Golden Bears will resume play Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Moravian University.
