SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's track & field team had a large number of athletes compete at the Paul Kiser Classic Saturday, on the campus of Shippensburg University.
 
In a large overall field, the Golden Bears competitors held their own with eight top-five finishers, including two second-place and two third-place individuals.
 
Giordanovenchy Cerisier (North Wales, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) crossed the finish line second out of 12 competitors in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 10:09.99. Xavier Feliciano (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) just missed winning the pole vault event, placing second overall after East Stroudsburg University's Dan Amari won with the same height by clearing 4.70m on his first attempt, while Feliciano's was on his second attempt.
 
Conor Wogan (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) finished just behind Feliciano and Amari with a third-place position at 4.55m. Anthony DeFusco (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) ended the long jump in third with a best jump of 7.03m and also placed fifth in the triple jump with a high mark of 13.78m. Joan Estrella (Reading, Pa./Reading) finished fourth out of 19 competitors in the javelin with a long throw of 52.76m. Jordon Floyd (Westampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) was tied for fifth in the high jump at 1.90m.
 
Kutztown will have one final meet, the Last Chance Invitational, at West Chester University next Saturday, May 1.
