Hamlin III earns All-PSAC Second Team in the long jump as KU sits fifth at PSAC Outdoor Championships

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Trey Hamlin III (Townsend, Del./Caravel Academy) recorded an All-PSAC Second Team nod, finishing second in the long jump Saturday and Kutztown tallied top 10 program marks in four different events to highlight day two of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Shippensburg University.

Hamlin III's best jump of 7.27mw (23-10.25) earned his team eight points with the second-place finish and gave him the individual accolade.

On the track, there was plenty of success. Kymanni Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) had himself a day as he qualified for Saturday's finals in both the 100m and 200m. His 21.28 in the 200m, ranks third all-time at KU. He also teamed up with Michael Fellin (Sheppton, Pa./Marian Catholic), Sean Singleton (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and Daron Haggans (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) in the 4x100 relay, which qualified for tomorrow's final with a time of 40.43, an NCAA Provisional time and the fastest in program history. Fellin also ran the third fastest time in program history to qualify for the 100m final. Haggans also qualified for tomorrow's 200m final.

Jaydon Witman (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg) crossed the finish line of the 110m hurdles in a time of 14.43, which ranks second all-time at KU. James Washburn (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) qualified for Saturday's 400m hurdles final in a time of 54.83 in the prelim. Willie Wiles (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) placed sixth in the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 9:44.29, to earn his team three points.

Owen Weaver (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) ended the two-day decathlon 11th overall out of 14 competitors with 5556 points.

Action on the final day, Saturday, begins with field events at 11:00 a.m., as the pole vault, shot put and javelin start the day.
