EMPORIA, Kan. – Both
Andrew Szeplaki (Bath, Pa./Northampton) and
Kevin Givone (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) concluded their 2026 campaigns by earning honorable mention All-America Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan.
Â
Szeplaki placed 17th overall in the pole vault with a best clearance of 5.01m (16-5.25). It was the second height he cleared, having first gotten past 4.86 (11-.25) on the second try. He cleared 5.01m on his third and final attempt, but could not get through the next height, 5.16m (16-11). Givone finished 19th in the javelin with a furthest throw of 57.74m (189-5) on his first attempt. The next two throws did not pass that height. Competitors one-through-eighth received First Team AA, while nine-through-16 were Second Team.
Â
It was the second NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance for Givone, also competing in 2024, and the first for Szeplaki.
Â
Entering NCAAs, Givone was the No. 21 seed in the javelin with a mark of 66.37m, which he threw in the opening meet, the Keystone Challenge at Shippensburg University on March 21. Szeplaki was the No. 11 seed in the pole vault with a highest clearance of 5.27m, which he achieved at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, back on April 23.
