KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) and Alicia Pursell (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg Area) earned victories at No. 1 and No. 3 singles respectively, highlighting the Kutztown University women's tennis team's 7-2 setback to East Stroudsburg University Saturday afternoon at Keystone Courts.
 
Capoferri took care of Marina Zardet in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 at the top-flight position in the lineup in singles. It is the second win for Capoferri in the last three matches. Pursell, however, was taken to the tie-breaking set No. 3 singles, defeating Aubrianna Stetina 7-5, 3-6, 10-5.
 
In the three doubles matches, two-of-the-three came within two points, and the third was decided by just four. The No. 1 and No. 2 doubles duos of Capoferri and Kara Urland (Saylorsburg, Pa./Pleasant Valley), along with Yasmeen Malik (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and Pursell, each game up just two wins shy of a victory.
 
Kutztown is back on the court for the final time this season for senior day on Wednesday, April 18. Match time from Keystone Courts is set for 2:30 p.m.
