KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's tennis team was defeated by Millersville, 9-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match held at Keystone Courts on Saturday.
 
Both Yasmeen Malik (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) put up hard-fought matches in singles action but were unable to close out their respective sets. Malik dropped a tough 4-6, 5-7 decision at the third flight, while Capoferri narrowly missed the victory, 6-7 (3-7), 2-6, at No. 2 singles.
 
In doubles action, the best performance for KU came from the duo of Malik and Ashley Carter (Eynon, Pa./Valley View), who fell short in a 6-8 loss in the No. 3 flight.
 
The Golden Bears (2-7, 0-2 PSAC) will have a quick turnaround as they will hit the road tomorrow, April 2 to face Shippensburg University in search of their first conference win on the season. The match is set to begin at 12 p.m.
