HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Kutztown University women's tennis team fell to Gordon College, 9-0, on Friday in the final day of the team's spring break trip in South Carolina.

In singles action, freshman
Kara Urland (Saylorsburg, Pa./Pleasant Valley) won a team-high four games at No. 5 singles in a 6-3, 6-1 loss. Fellow freshman
Shadimon Navarro (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) picked up three games in her first set at No. 6 singles for the Golden Bears. She was defeated by a score of 6-3, 6-0 by Emily Leahy.

All three of KU's doubles teams won a game on Friday in 8-1 defeats. Juniors
Jessica Burns (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Alyssa Konas (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) played at No. 1 doubles, while
Yasmeen Malik (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and
Vicki Norman (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) competed at No. 2 doubles.
Ashley Carter (Eynon, Pa./Valley View) and
Kady Wuagon (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) teamed up for KU at No. 3 doubles.

The Golden Bears return to action on Wednesday, March 16, at 2:30 p.m. in a road matchup at Harford Community College as they seek their first win of the season.
