KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's tennis team picked up its second win of the year, with a dominant 8-1 final over the University of Scranton.

Eight different Golden Bears picked up wins on the day, including
Rushi Amin (Orefield, PA/Lake Brantley),
Varun Desai (Mumbai, India/K.C. College) and
Rich Lichtenwalner (Allentown, Pa./Parkland), who each won twice.
Amin, who improved to 9-0 on the year, teamed with Matthew Maguire for an 8-3 win at first doubles, then defeated Tim McGurrin 6-3, 6-0 at first singles.
Desai and
Parth Girme (Pune, India/B.M.C.C.) were 8-5 winners at second doubles, with Desai notching win at second doubles, as well. He needed three sets, but picked up a 3-6, 6-1, 11-9 victory over David Teres.
At third doubles,
Ben Nace (Spring Grove, Pa./Delone Catholic) and Lichtenwalner defeated James Delkiewicz and Michael O'Malley 8-4. Lichtenwalner also won at four singles, with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Mike Pannone.
KU also picked up singles wins from both
Patricio Hernandez (Mexico City, Mexico/Colegio Vista Hermosa) and
Bilawal Suri (Kolkata, India/Calcutta International). Hernandez was a 6-2, 6-2 straight-set winner at fifth singles over O'Malley. Suri won against Devin Patel 6-2, 6-1 at sixth singles.
Kutztown is idle until LaSalle visits Keystone Tennis Courts on October 13.
