KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University men's tennis got a win at No. 3 singles but fell 6-1 to Davis & Elkins, Saturday afternoon at Keystone Courts.
The visiting Senators claimed the doubles point with victories at all three flights. With a 6-1 win at No.1 and a 7-5 win at No.2.
Raphael Hoareau Lebon (Saint-Joseph, Réunion/Lycee de Vincendo) and
Luis Lopes (Piracicaba, Brazil/Colegio Saber) battled at No. 3 before falling 7-6 (7-0).
Kutztown picked up its lone point in singles when Argentinian freshman
Nacho Costa (Buenos Aires, Argentina) defeated Sou Okada at No. 3, 6-3, 6-2. At No. 6, Hoareau Lebon won the opening set 6-2 before Davis & Elkins' Julio Troncoso battled back to take the second, 6-1, and the deciding match tiebreak, 12-10.
The match marked Kutztown's lone home contest of the fall season. The Golden Bears will finish out their season on the road against Moravian Oct. 14 at 3:30 p.m.
