NEW YORK and EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Kutztown University's
Eli Weeks (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) ran the 800-meter in 1:56.22 to lead a split Golden Bear squad at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory in New York. KU also competed at the DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg.

At New York, Weeks ran the third fastest time in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference this year and was the second Division II finisher at the meet.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Percell Berry (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton),
Kori Meshaw (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) (Lacaster, Pa./Hempfield),
Greg Crawford (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) and
Geoffrey Mock (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) was the second Division II team to finish, running a 3:22.77.
Berry was also the best Division II finisher in the pole vault, clearing 15-1 (4.60).
Zach Fleming (Emerald, PA/Northern Lehigh) (Emerald, Pa./Northern Lehigh) finished fifth among Division II runners with a time of 4:24.37.
At East Stroudsburg,
Michael Stramara (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) finished second in the shot put and moved into fifth in the PSAC with a throw of 48-4.5 (14.74).
Tyler Rolshausen (Schuylkill Haven, PA/Blue Mountain) (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) notched a mark of 49-9.25 (15.17) in the shot put to finish fourth.
Brad Hoey (Oradell, NJ/River Dell Regional) (Oradell, N.J./River Dell Regional) added a fourth place finish in the pole vault, clearing 13-1 (3.99).
In the 500-meter dash,
Jonathan Byrne (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook) (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook) took fifth in 1:09.86.
Two Golden Bears had seventh place finishes.
Pedro Williams (Passaic, NJ/Liberty (PA)) (Passaic, N.J./Liberty (Pa.)) had a hop, skip and jump of 42-6.25 (12.96) in the triple jump, while
Matt Bailey (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) crossed the finish line in 8.26 in the 55-meter hurdles.
The quartet of
Stephen Brown (Newark, DE/Appoquinimink) (Newark, Del./Appoquinimink), Byrne,
Brad Mayer (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) and
Jacob Murray (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) finished eighth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:33.42.
There was no team scoring at either meet.
Kutztown is back in action on February 10 at the Lafayette-Rider Winter Games in New York and on February 11 at the Valentine Invitational in Boston.
