KUTZTOWN, Pa. (September 24, 2011)—The Kutztown University women's volleyball team defeated Shippensburg University 3-1, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division game Saturday afternoon at Keystone Arena.

The Golden Bears (13-4, 3-3 PSAC East) are 7-0 at Keystone Arena. The Raiders fell to 3-11 overall and 0-5 in the PSAC East.
KU defeated Ship by set scores of 25-16, 25-22, and 25-21. Shippensburg won the first match 25-21.
Cait Hess (Newark, DE/St. Mark's) led the KU attack with 16 kills, followed by
Cali Snell (York, PA/York Suburban) with 11 kills.
Brianna Risch (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville) finished with a team-high six blocks and Snell recorded five blocks.
Erin Kissling (York, PA/Central York) tabbed seven kills and added a block.
Kimberlee Gomber (Washington, PA/Washington) and
Dana Wright (Warminster, PA/Saint Basil Academy) combined for 29 assists.
Lindsey Smith (Hanover, PA/Delone Catholic) recorded a team-high 31 digs against the Raiders.
Brittany Harman (Hanover, PA/South Western) finished with 13 digs and Kissling added eight digs on the day.
“I was impressed with how the team battled back after dropping the first set,” Kutztown University head coach
John Gump said. “We did a nice job of finding favorable match-ups on offense.”
The Golden Bears return to action on Friday, Sept. 30 when they host Lock Haven University for a PSAC East Division game. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Keystone Arena.
