KUTZTOWN, PA (April 13, 2010) -- The Kutztown University women's tennis team came up short to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival Bloomsburg 7-2 on Tuesday.

A  mid-morning rain shower threatened to cancel the divisional matchup when the teams showed up to play in the afternoon and the courts were soaked. There to save the day was the Golden Bears and Huskies men's squads, who operated leaf blowers and squeegees for an hour, to dry the courts.

Kutztown (8-7, 4-1) secured a win at the No. 1 doubles spot. The tag team of Rohini Das and Ridhima Borooah defeated Alison Carney and Emily Palko 8-4.

Playing at No. 1 singles, Das also picked up the second win of the day for the Golden Bears when she defeated PSAC Eastern Division Women's Tennis Player of the Week Katie Hasyn 6-1, 6-2.

The Golden Bears return to action on Saturday, April 17 when they play West Virginia Wesleyan on neutral grounds at Bloomsburg at  1 p.m.
