Women's tennis drops match to Ashland University

HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 9, 2010) - The Kutztown University women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 contest with Ashland University on Tuesday afternoon during its spring break trip at Hilton Head.

Senior Rohini Das dropped her opening set 6-2 at the No. 1 singles flight. She countered with a 6-2 win in the second set to force a super tiebreaker. In the extended play, Das outlasted Torrie Goudy to take the tiebreaker 12-10.

In the No. 1 doubles slot, Das and teammate Radhima Borooah were just edged out by Goudy and Paige Cooper, falling 8-6.

Nicole Devine and Rachel Grula put up a battle at the third doubles, but took an 8-5 defeat against Erika Sullivan and Christa Halicki.

The Golden Bears will take the court again tomorrow, facing off with Tiffin University starting at 12:30 p.m.
