KUTZTOWN, Pa. – No. 15 Kutztown women's lacrosse swept Week 10 of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference weekly awards Tuesday morning, as seniors
Katie Yocum (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and
Summer Davis (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) earned Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week honors to cap a dominant regular season.
The recognition marks the sixth PSAC weekly award for the Golden Bears this season: four defensive honors and two offensive. Yocum has claimed both offensive awards, while Davis has earned two of the four defensive honors.
The duo's latest accolades came on the heels of Saturday's senior day celebration, where Kutztown honored its 2026 senior class: Yocum, Davis,
Brynn Axe (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield),
Marisa Bragg (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central),
Rowan Hall (Sloatsburg, N.Y./Suffern), and
Sammy Ruwet (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional). The Golden Bears sent their seniors out in style with a pair of dominant victories, a 20-5 win over Bloomsburg on Wednesday and a 20-3 Senior Day triumph over Shepherd.
Yocum led the offensive charge in both games, reaching two career milestones along the way. Against Bloomsburg, the senior recorded five goals and one assist for six points, surpassing 100 career goals and 100 career points. On Senior Day, she exploded for a game-high seven goals, giving her 12 goals and 13 points for the week.
The stellar week pushed Yocum to 59 goals on the season, third in the PSAC in goals per game and third all-time at Kutztown for goals in a single season. She also contributed five ground balls, two caused turnovers, and a draw control across the two victories.
Davis continued her record-breaking campaign with another dominant week. Against Bloomsburg, she recorded a career-high eight caused turnovers while scooping up six ground balls. On Senior Day, she added a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls, bringing her week totals to 10 caused turnovers and eight ground balls. Davis also controlled the draw circle with 11 draw controls on the week.
The senior now leads Kutztown in all three major defensive categories: 50 ground balls, 50 caused turnovers, and 44 draw controls. Her 50 caused turnovers rank third all-time in a single season at Kutztown, while her career total of 157 sits just two shy of tying the program record of 159—a mark within reach in Tuesday's PSAC quarterfinal.
Davis ranks fifth in the PSAC in ground balls per game, second in the conference in caused turnovers per game, and eighth in NCAA Division II in caused turnovers per game.
The Golden Bears hit the road Tuesday for the PSAC quarterfinals, facing No. 22 Seton Hill at 3 p.m. The Griffins enter as the No. 2 seed from the PSAC West, while Kutztown is the No. 3 seed from the East.
