LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Maria Clark (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) qualified for the PSAC Championships in the shot put and discus, while Olivia Solomon (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) won the 1500m open for the Kutztown University women's track & field team at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational on Saturday at the University of Lynchburg.

Clark was the lone Golden Bear to register PSAC cuts, doing so with a pair of top five finishes in the throwing events. The sophomore from Mechanicsburg, Pa., put forth a runner-up effort in the shot put with a best throw of 12.96m (42-6.25) and placed fourth in the discus by throwing 40.34m (132-04). Both events featured more than 30 throwers.

Solomon earned distinction as Kutztown's only event winner of the day and second of the meet, joining Taylor Funk (Denver, Pa./Cocalico), who won the pole vault on Friday evening. Solomon's 1500m open time of 5:07.09 was best among 29 runners.

The Maroon and Gold got top 10 event finishes from its 4x100m relay team (fifth), Gabby Keith (Reading, Pa./Exeter) in the 800m (eighth), Maggie Coleman (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) in the 400m (ninth), Samantha Boyle (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) in the high jump (ninth), Beth Schearer (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) in the 200m (10th), the 4x400m relay team (10th) and Isabella Hughes (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Schuylkill Haven) in both the 100m hurdles (10th) and 400m hurdles (10th).

The Golden Bears are back in action in two weekends at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University, April 11-13.
