KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown acrobatics & tumbling enjoyed a successful Senior Day by clinching a Mountain East Conference postseason berth with a 202.200-185.360 victory over Wheeling University Saturday afternoon at Keystone Arena.
The victory not only sent the Golden Bears to the MEC Championship semifinals for the second year in a row, but evened their overall (4-4) and conference (3-3) records.
In recognition of Senior Day, head coach

Haley Sullick (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood),
Hannah Fortuna (Itasca, Ill./Lake Park),
Sydney Jundt (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester),
Jordyn Osner (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown),
Julia Yeager (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg),
Cecilia Marshall (Bellingham, Mass./Home Schooled),
Zoe Tuttle (Ocean View, Del./Indian River) and
Catherine Lewis (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford).
The Maroon and Gold took an 83.15-72.75 advantage into halftime and then outscored the Cardinals (2-4, 1-3 MEC) 119.050-112.610 in the second half to finish off the win.
Highlights of the meet included Kutztown tying its highest score of the season in the pyramid inversion heat (9.45/10), along with setting its highest score of the season in the pyramid open heat (9.75/10), pyramid event overall (28.60/30.00) and toss open heat (8.40/9.00).
Before competing in the MEC Tournament on Saturday, April 11, against an opponent to be determined, Kutztown has one final regular season meet and it's the home finale. The Bears host American International College next Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m.
