KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- The Kutztown University acrobatics & tumbling team continued its tough 2026 schedule Tuesday evening with its third meet against a nationally ranked opponent. No. 13 Hawaii Pacific took an early lead and never looked back, sending the Golden Bears to a 250.905-213.460 defeat at Keystone Arena.
Kutztown (2-4) could never overcome a 3.5 point deficit after the compulsory event as the visiting Sharks (1-1) went on to win all six events in the first-ever meeting between the two schools in any sport.
The Maroon and Gold put up scores of 9.0 or better in three heats during the first half, including a 9.35/10 in the compulsory pyramid heat, a 9.00/9.90 in the acro 5-element heat and a 9.20/10 in the pyramid open heat.
KU will travel to Georgian Court for another non-conference battle next Tuesday at 6 p.m., before looking to secure its spot in the Mountain East Conference Tournament at home against Wheeling on Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m.
