WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- Raechel Bonner (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Taniyah Lawler (Chester, Pa./Chester) made sure to they would be competing in the postseason next weekend as they each recorded Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying times in their respective events Friday afternoon to lead the Kutztown women's outdoor track & field team at the West Chester University Tune Up.
Bonner won the 400m out of nine competitors with a time of 58.33 and Lawler finished first in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.56. Bonner also placed second overall in the 200m out of 15 runners.
Other highlights included Kacie Sienko (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) winning the high jump, Saige Thibodeaux (Cape Coral, Fla./Ida S. Baker) finishing second in the javelin and Sofia Beard (York, Pa./Red Lion) placing third in the shot put.
The PSAC Outdoor Championships from Slippery Rock University are set to begin next Thursday, May 8, and run through Saturday, May 10.
