SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Kutztown University's
Sophia Knerr (Columbia, N.J./North Warren Regional) was honored as the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Champion Scholar during last Saturday's awards ceremony at the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Slippery Rock, Pa.
Knerr, a native of Columbia, N.J., achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA through 140 credits and graduated
summa cum laude with a degree in social work this past December. She's currently a first-semester graduate student pursuing a social work master's.
The PSAC Champion Scholar awards honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's finals sites. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.
Knerr is the second recipient of the award from Kutztown in women's outdoor track & field all-time and first since Julie Stratton in 2017.
