LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Jaelyn D'Amelio (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) ran to a second-place finish and ninth on Kutztown University women's track & field's top 10 in the 5000 meters, and the Golden Bears set seven PSAC qualifying times or marks during Saturday's events at the Bucknell-hosted Bison Outdoor Classic.

D'Amelio set a steady pace early in the 5k and rose through her heat with faster times as the laps clicked down. The graduate student from Manahawkin, N.J., crossed the line with a new PR by more than 11 seconds with a 17:48.98 to take second overall and move from 10th to ninth on KU's top 10.

In addition to D'Amelio's PSAC qualifying and program top 10 time, senior and fellow New Jerseyan Sophia Knerr (Columbia, N.J./North Warren Regional) accomplished both feats as well on her way to the seventh-best time in the meet. Knerr finished in 17:55.29 for the 10th-fastest time in program history.

Three other Kutztown runners set PSAC qualifying times in their respective events. Mackey Donovan (Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee) did it in the 800m with a time of 2:18.91, while Deandra Young (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) (4:48.65) and Jensen Kraft (Nutley, N.J./Saint Mary) (4:51.89) were qualifiers in the 1500m.

First-year thrower Maria Clark (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) secured qualifying marks in both the shot put (11.94m/32-2.25) and discus (37.27m/122-3).

The Golden Bears will have a full day of competition on Sunday with entries in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 3000m, 400m hurdles, 4x100m relay, pole vault, triple jump and hammer throw. Sunday's events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
