The Golden Bears will look to finish higher than last season's seventh-place finish at Lehigh. This is the second straight year PSACs will be held at Rauch Fieldhouse. The Maroon and Gold placed fifth in 2021-22 and were crowned champions following the 2018-19 event. An eighth and ninth-place finish were mixed into the last five championships.
Last season, the 4x4 relay team, consisting of
Kiana Young (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg),
Taniyah Lawler (Chester, Pa./Chester),
Beth Schearer (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and
Raechel Bonner (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) won gold in a time of 3:54.70. That quartet, which holds the program record of 3:54.05, is set to compete in the relay this year.
Young, who also broke the program record in the 200m earlier this season, is one of the top performers in the field. In the 400m, Bonner enters off a bronze medal last year.
Sophia Knerr (Columbia, N.J./North Warren Regional) is near the top of the field in both the 3000m and 5000m.
Delaney Beard (Sinking Spring, Pa./Governor Mifflin), who is competing in both the long jump and triple jump, had a top-five finish in the triple jump at the 2023-24 PSAC Championships.
Maria Clark (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) will also be competing in two field events, including the weight throw and shot put.
Marissa McNamee (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) enters as the second-highest performer in the pole vault.
