YORK, Pa. – Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) swam the second-quickest 400-yard individual medley time in school history to earn Kutztown women's swimming's first individual top 10 finish of the PSAC Championships and the 200-yard freestyle relay also turned in the second-best time in team history to highlight Tuesday's action for the Golden Bears.
 
Rodier already ranked second on the top 10 with a personal best of 4:43.31 set earlier this year. The junior from Mount Laurel, N.J., topped it twice with a 4:43.09 in prelims and a B Final-winning 4:39.24 that placed her ninth overall.
 
Teammate Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) also had an impressive performance in the 400 IM, out-swimming her pre-meet seeding and joining the program top 10 in the process. The Iceland native qualified for the C Final with the eighth-best time in team history (4:48.46), to rank 19th after prelims. She moved up a spot to 18th in the final standings with a 4:44.89 in the C Final, good for fourth on KU's top 10.
 
Freshman Kara Damico (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) and junior Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) were part of two program top 10s. Damico qualified for the C Final in the 100 butterfly where she finished 20th overall in 58.64. She moved from fifth to fourth among the program's best times. Soto registered a 1:00.28 in prelims to rank 28th and 10th in team history.
 
The duo were joined by Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School) and Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) in the 200 free relay where they finished seventh in the second-best time in KU history, 1:37.31.
 
KU holds 10th in the team standings halfway through the meet after scoring 112 points on Tuesday (187 total).
 
Wednesday's events include the 500 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 fly and 200 medley relay. Preliminary heats are scheduled for 10 a.m., with finals starting at 6 p.m.
