KUTZTOWN, Pa. – During the summer months, Kutztown athletics takes a break from competition. So, what do Golden Bear student-athletes like to do in their down time? Over the next month, we will be catching up with some KU Golden Bears.
Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) – Women's Swimming – Senior
What is your favorite thing about summer?
- My favorite thing about summer is enjoying the warm weather and being able to see my family and friends more often.
What is your favorite thing to do during the summer?
- My favorite thing to do during the summer is to go down the shore, swim in the ocean, and look for shells.
Favorite vacation spot you've been to? One place you haven't been to yet, but would like to?
- I really enjoyed visiting Puerto Rico but my dream vacation spot is Italy.
What have you been up to/current plans this summer from a sport perspective?
- This summer I have been busy with work and hanging out with my friends. I also have been spending quality time with my nephew. From a sport perspective, I have been swimming every morning with my old team from home and lifting at the gym.
What's a song you can jam out to that makes you feel like it's summer?
- It is so difficult to pick just one but recently I've been jamming out to "Feels Like Summer," by Childish Gambino.
What do you miss about KU during the summer months?
- During the summer I miss being able to practice with my teammates and having them there to motivate me.
Favorite place to be on campus when it's a nice, sunny and warm day?
- My favorite place to enjoy a nice sunny day on campus is by the softball fields, tanning with my friends.
Favorite summer dessert/treat?
- This is also so difficult to pick just one but during the summer I love making s'mores.
Favorite way to keep cool during the summer?
- My favorite way to keep cool during the summer is by enjoying ice cream and to go swimming, (Recreationally of course).
Any summer traditions you do with friends/family that you enjoy?
- A tradition that I love to do every summer with my friends and family is to go blueberry picking.
What do you look forward to most about returning to KU in August?
- I look forward to seeing all of my friends and teammates that don't get to see over the summer.
