NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's cross country team placed three runners inside the top 20, led by
Adam Brocato (Reisterstown, Md./Calvert Hall) in 11th, as it competed in the Dickinson Long-Short Run at Big Spring High School on Saturday.

The Maroon and Gold entered 10 student-athletes in the Short Invitational, which covered 4,000-meters (4k). They finished fourth in the team standings among eight teams with 35 points. Shippensburg claimed the team title with nine points, ahead of host Dickinson (16), Lebanon Valley (27) and KU.

Brocato ran inside the top five early before crossing the finish line 11th in a time of 12:31.2. He was followed closely by
Robby Lloyd (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) in 13th (12:33.0) and
Jacob Huber (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) in 19th (12:45.4).

Peyton Small (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) placed 23rd in 12:49.7,
Kayden Platania (Buena, N.J./Buena Regional)Â was 29th in 12:56.7,
Connor Murphy (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) claimed 32nd in 12:56.7 and
Cody Schabener (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) took 34th in 13:06.9. Completing the Bears' entries in the 80-runner field were
Willie Wiles (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) in 38th (13:18.3),
Sean Carpenter (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) in 41st (13:28.0) and
Brett Pevec (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) in 47th (13:53.5).

Kutztown will be in action for a second straight weekend next Saturday when it travels to Bethlehem for the prestigious Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
