DeFusco wins two events, sets top ten program mark as Golden Bears compete at Coach P Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Junior Anthony DeFusco (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) was a man on a mission on Saturday afternoon, winning two events while setting a top-ten program mark, as the Kutztown University men's track and field team competed at the Coach P Invitational, hosted by Moravian University.

DeFusco won both the long jump and triple jump events in Bethlehem, hitting PSAC marks in both. His jump of 7.38m (24'2.5") in the long jump is now the third-best mark in program history, while he finished with a 14.40m (47'3") mark in the triple jump.

Jordon Floyd (Westampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) was another junior jumper who shined in the long jump. The Westampton, N.J. native finished second in the event, with a mark of 7.04m (23'1.25"). That is not just a PSAC mark, but also the ninth-best jump in program history. Another winner for KU on Saturday was Michael Fellin (Sheppton, Pa./Marian Catholic). The freshman sensation finished first in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 10.76.

The Golden Bears kicked off events on Friday with the hammer throw and shot put events. Jacob Solonoski (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) was the story, finishing third in the hammer throw with a PSAC mark and personal-best throw of 49.90m (163'8"). He followed that up on Saturday with a PSAC mark in the discus with a throw of 41.47m (136'0"), good enough for sixth place.

JT Tamayo (Reading, Pa./Wilson) finished second in the 400m hurdles with a PSAC time of 57.06. Gabe Sample (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) was another long jumper who hit a PSAC mark, while Dekai Averett (Douglassville, Pa./Souderton), Kyle Love (Lansdowne, Pa./Bonner-Prendergast), and Jason Mraz (Edison, N.J./Edison) were the other Golden Bears to earn PSAC marks over in Bethlehem.

The 200-meter dash and 4x400 relay events did not take place due to lighting and rain on Saturday.

KU is back in action next week with two meets. The Golden Bears will take part in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia with events set to take place from Thursday, April 27 till Saturday, April 29. KU will also take part in the Paul Kasier Classic, hosted at Shippensburg on Saturday, April 29.
