LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's track & field team saw a quartet reach Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying standards Friday, highlighting KU on day one of the Bison Outdoor Classic on the campus of Bucknell University.
All three Golden Bears in the 1500m, including
Colleen Gilbert (Willow Street, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg),
Anastasia Fratanduono (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and
Ava Bendetti (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland) will be competing at PSAC Championships, along with
Sophia Knerr (Columbia, N.J./North Warren Regional) in the 5000m and
Kacie Sienko (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) in the long jump. Knerr placed in the top-10 with a personal-best time of 18:39.26, and both Gilbert and Fratanduono had PRs of 4:54.88 and 4:57.50, respectively.
Katherine Nolan (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) and
Haleigh Davis (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) also competed in field events in the discus and long jump, respectively.
Kutztown concludes day two of the Bison Outdoor Classic tomorrow, Saturday, April 16, beginning at 10 a.m.
