Solt sits first heading into 60H final, Tama and Payne finish second as KU ranks fourth after day one of PSAC Championships

RESULTS
 
EDINBORO, Pa. – Kira Solt (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) is the top runner in the 60 meter hurdles following the prelim, and both Ally Tama (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) and Gabby Payne (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) finished second in their respective events, earning team points as the Kutztown University women's track & field team ranks fourth following day one of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Edinboro University.
 
Kutztown ranks fourth out of 15 teams with 24 points.
 
Solt crossed the finish line in a season-best time of 9.16, first amongst a field of 16, qualifying for the final tomorrow. Tama's top clearance of 3.80m (12-5.50) in the pole vault and Payne's best jump of 5.53m (18-1.75) in the long jump gave KU eight points each. The distance medley relay team, consisting of Ava Bendetti (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland), Anastasia Fratanduono (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), Jaidah Mitchell (Pemberton, N.J./Pemberton Township) and Colleen Gilbert (Willow Street, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) placed fourth overall and earned five points.
 
Brianna Foster (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley Park) qualified for both the 60m and 200m finals tomorrow. Her 25.95 in the 200m ranks seventh all-time in program history. She placed third in the 60m at 7.75. Raechel Bonner (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) qualified for the 400m final Sunday in a time of 59.06. Myah Davies (New Market, Md./Linganore) also recorded two team points in the pole vault with a mark of 3.50m (11-5.75).
 
Skylar Miller (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) and Jonna Pettus (Easton, Pa./Easton) each competed in the pentathlon and its five events. They placed 11th and 13th overall respectively.
 
Day two and the final day of PSACs is set to begin at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 27.
