STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Kutztown University women's track & field team was back competing in its second meet of the 2021-22 indoor season, and first of 2022, when KU hit the track at the Spartan Invitational in Staten Island, N.Y., Friday afternoon.
 
It was nearly a month-and-a-half since the Golden Bears last meet, the season-opener at the Fast Times Before Finals at Lehigh University on Dec. 3-4. Kira Solt (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) earned a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying time in the 60m hurdles, while there were four student-athletes that achieved personal-bests on the day.
 
Solt placed sixth in the 60H out of 18 competitors with a time of 9.43. She also had a PR of 8.23 in the 60m. Skylar Miller (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights), Kacie Sienko (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and Alexa Gulliver (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) also had personal-best marks. Miller placed third in the high jump at 1.55m, Sienko and Gulliver's marks in the long jump and triple jump were PRs.
 
The 4x400m relay of Kiara Mayers (Damascus, Pa./Honesdale), Anastasia Fratanduono (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), Ava Bendetti (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland), Angela Iaccarino (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) received the bronze in 4:22.72. Raechel Bonner (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Erika Moriarty (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) also placed third in the 400m and 3000m respectively.
 
Kutztown is at the Alvernia Winter Invitational in Reading next Saturday, Jan. 22, with action set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
