KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The postseason has arrived, and after a two-year hiatus, the third-ranked Kutztown University women's soccer team is back in the big dance. KU is the top seed in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division and will host the fourth seed, Millersville, on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m., in a quarterfinal round game at Keystone Field.

Tickets for Tuesday's Quarterfinal match are $10 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased online at the link above, or available to be bought in person on Tuesday evening. All PSAC students will be admitted into the game for free with a valid school ID.

Live stats and video links can be found at the top of the page and on www.kubears.com.

The Golden Bears finished the regular season with a 17-1 overall record and 15-1 mark in the PSAC, winners of the PSAC East Division regular season title. The 15 conference wins is a program record and the 17 wins so far ranks second-best in program history. They are on a seven-game win streak with their only loss coming at the hands of West Chester, 2-1, on Oct. 9.

Kutztown qualified for the PSAC Tournament for the 12th time in 14 seasons under head coach Erik Burstein, the first time since 2018 (there was no season in 2020). Under Burstein, KU has made four trips to the PSAC title game (2009, 2011, 2014, 2016) and reached the semifinals on six occasions (2009-11, 2014, 2016-17). KU has won 10 or more games in 19 straight seasons.

The Golden Bears and Marauders met twice this season with the Maroon and Gold coming out on top in both games. Both contests were decided by just one goal, with KU winning 1-0 in the PSAC opener at home on Sept. 8, and then escaping Millersville with a 2-1 victory in double overtime on Sept. 22. Sophomore Allie Tierney (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) scored the game's lone goal in the first game, while classmate Isabella Rossetti (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) collected the first goal and senior Brittany Arentz (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) netted the game-winner in the second overtime.

Arentz ranks second on KU in both goals scored (4) and points (10). Senior captain Kayla Argen (Cresco, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) leads the team with 10 goals (third in the PSAC), four assists and 24 points (third in PSAC).

The Kutztown defense has been stout all season, allowing just 10 goals, which ranks second-best in program history, while recording nine shutouts. The backline has primarily consisted of seniors Molly McHarg (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) and Alisea Munshower (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York), junior Kylee MacLeod (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), sophomore Dana Wentz (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) and freshman Bridget Curtis (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South). Sophomore goalies Emme Wolfel (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) and Cassandra Baker (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) have each had their fair share guarding the net. Wolfel started 13 games and has recorded 27 saves and five shutouts, with a .611 goals against average (third in the PSAC). Baker has earned the victory in all five of her starts and has 13 saves and three shutouts, allowing just two goals.

The winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal will play the winner of Gannon and Slippery Rock on Friday, Nov. 12, in a semifinal round matchup. KU will host both semifinal round games and the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 14, if it is victorious over Millersville on Tuesday.
