LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After another pair of wins by the 23rd-ranked Kutztown University women's soccer team, starting goalkeeper Morgan O'Donnell (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Defensive Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

The junior faced a combined 15 shots (eight on goal) across the team's two conference games against Millersville and Lock Haven, which KU won 4-1 and 3-1, respectively. She managed three saves in each of the two games, which turned out to be pivotal in the two victories over the weekend.

The West Chester, Pa., native opened the season facing a career high 14 shots while making four saves in the season opener against Concord, while also starting in the net for the team's 5-0 win over Mansfield. Her performance, along with the rest of the stellar Golden Bears defense, has led the team to a 4-0 record for the second consecutive season and the third time in the past five years.

This is O'Donnell's first athlete of the week honor, with her two wins give her a record of 5-0-1 in seven games played. She holds a 0.78 goals-against average on the year, while the team's 13-goal differential is tied for second among all conference opponents.

O'Donnell and the nationally ranked Golden Bears (4-0, 2-0 PSAC East) return to Keystone Field next week for a pair of matches against Shepherd (Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.) and East Stroudsburg (Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m.) as it looks to keep its winning ways going.
