LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The 23rd-ranked Kutztown University women's soccer team won its fourth straight contest of the season, defeating the Lock Haven Bald Eagles 3-1 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division matchup at Hubert Jack Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Bears (4-0, 2-0 PSAC East) kept its run of dominance going against the Bald Eagles (1-2-1, 0-2-1 PSAC East), maintaining its undefeated record on the year while extending its winning streak against the Bald Eagles to 18 straight games.
Kutztown took a 1-0 first half lead off a goal from junior
Corinne Morgan (Port Republic, N.J./Cedar Creek), who received a feed from senior forward
Caroline McDonald (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East). McDonald helped the Golden Bears extend its lead right out of the gate in the second half, scoring a 46th-minute goal off an assist from freshman defender
Sierra Hess (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) to give KU a two-goal advantage. Lock Haven's Bryn Constanzer put a ball in the back of the net in the 61st minute, but Kutztown sophomore
Regan Curabba (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) struck back in the final minutes to seal the victory.
The Maroon and Gold continue its dominance on both ends of the ball in 2025, scoring 16 goals on the year while limiting their opponents to three goals across four games. Goalkeeper
Morgan O'Donnell (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) has been a huge reason behind their success, as the junior stopper has tallied three saves against Lock Haven to bring her total to 10 on the year.
Kutztown led the game in shots (18-7), shots on goal (11-4) and corner attempts (9-4), once again forcing their opponent into uncomfortable positions that led to favorable scoring opportunities.
The Golden Bears return to Keystone Field next week for matches against PSAC East challengers Shepherd (Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.) and East Stroudsburg (Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m.) as it looks to continue its streak of success against conference opponents.
