STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- Kutztown University women's golf finished the fall portion of its 2021-22 schedule, Sunday, by collecting a runner-up finish in the ESU Invitational at Glen Brook Golf Club.
Cecelia Knecht (North Charleston, S.C./Fort Dorchester) paced the Golden Bears with an 11-over par 83 on the par 72, 5,800-yard course. Knecht took third overall, while teammate
Alexis Perez (Pearland, Texas/J. Frank Dobie) was four shots back with an 87 in fifth place.
Olivia Donnini (Wapwallopen, Pa./Crestwood) gave KU three golfers in the top 10 as she tied for seventh with a 91.
Molly Agnello (Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) was the final scorer for the Maroon and Gold with a 98.
Kutztown's eight representatives made up more than a third of the 23-player field.
Kayla McMahon (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) shot a 99,
Grace Babinchak (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) 100,
Alexis Verdes (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) a season-best 101 and
Alivia Miesowitz (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) 106.
Sunday's team score of 359 was Kutztown's fourth-best scoring round of the fall. The Golden Bears will resume their schedule in the spring as they prepare to host the 2022 PSAC Championship at Berkleigh Golf Club, April 22-24.
