LEWISBURG, Pa. – Xavier Feliciano (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) won the pole vault with an NCAA Provisional mark, and Andrew Sulon (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) ran to a personal-best time in the 5000m to highlight the Kutztown University men's track & field team on day one of competition Friday evening at the Bison Open & Multi, hosted by Bucknell University.
 
Feliciano cleared 15'9" (4.80m) in taking a top spot in the pole vault. Sulon finished second at a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying time of 15:47.86.
 
Five other Golden Bears ran to PSAC times Friday, including the trio of Savaughn Hebron (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy), Ryan Benner (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) and Trey Henry (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) in the 200m, and both Tyrece Brown (Westville, N.J./Deptford Township) and Martin Valle (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) in the 60m hurdles final.
 
Darien Clarke (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) and Tommy Oliver (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) each competed in four events in the heptathlon. Clarke earned PRs in the 60m, long jump and shot put.
 
Kutztown will finish day two of competition at the Bison Open tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 1, beginning at 10 a.m.
