KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's tennis team won five-of-six singles matches, and ended its regular season schedule on a winning note, continuing its hot streak with a 5-4 match win against Harford Community College Wednesday afternoon at Keystone Court.

The Golden Bears (10-3 overall) honored seniors Joan Oliver Perez (Andratx, Spain/IES Baltasar Porcel), David Nunez Contreras (Madrid, Spain/Mater Immaculata), Gabriel Nogara Souza (Curitiba, Brazil/Dom Bosco), Martin Munoz (Las Palmas, Spain/Claret (Post)) and Nikolay Kodinov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria/Model High School of Mathematics) before the match. Along with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) men's tennis athlete of the week Josh Carl (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin), and Jason Listmeier (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East), KU wrapped up its regular season with a victory, heading into postseason play with a ton of momentum.

It is the first win over the Fighting Owls in the last three seasons.

Two of the three doubles matches were decided by two sets, including No. 3 doubles, where Oliver Perez and Benjamin Kelly (Medina, Ohio/Highland) lost in a tiebreaker, 9-7.

For the third consecutive week, KU is ranked in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Poll, coming in at seven. Six teams qualify for the Atlantic Region Tournament, including conference champions.

Bluefield State (13-2) ranks first, followed by PSAC member Mercyhurst (12-1) in second, West Virginia Wesleyan (15-2), Fairmont State (12-6) and KU's Friday opponent in the PSAC semifinals, Edinboro (9-7) rounding out the top-five. Charleston (11-6) is sixth just ahead of Kutztown.

No. 3 seed Kutztown will now look towards the postseason when it travels to Bloomsburg University to take on the No. 2 seed Fighting Scots in the PSAC semifinals at 11 a.m.
