HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Nikolay Kodinov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria/Model High School of Mathematics) won both of his matches on Friday morning as the Kutztown University men's tennis team closed its Spring Break trip with its best performance in the Palmetto State, falling to Fairmont State by a score of 7-2.
 
After pairing with Gabriel Nogara Souza (Curitiba, Brazil/Dom Bosco) for the duo's team-best second victory together this season, 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, Kodinov survived a tiebreak in the first set of second flight singles before taking the second set 6-3  to tie for the team-lead with his second singles win.
 
Nogara Souza was KU's next-best singles performer, winning five games at the fourth flight, while Joan Oliver Perez (Andratx, Spain/IES Baltasar Porcel) and Martin Munoz (Las Palmas, Spain/Claret (Post)) dropped a competitive 8-4 decision at No. 1 doubles.
 
Kutztown (0-5) will have the weekend off before returning to the court up North to host Harford Community College on Monday at 2:30 p.m.
