Sullivan Named to PSAC Winter Top 10

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University senior Emma Sullivan (Phoenixville, Pa./Methacton) of the women's track & field team was recognized with one of the conference's top honors on Wednesday afternoon, as she was named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Winter Top 10 Award winner.
 
The Top 10 Awards, selected by the PSAC's sports information directors, recognize student-athletes who distinguish themselves in the classroom, as well as in the arena of competition. The conference designates Top 10 Award winners after each of the sports seasons: fall, winter and spring.
 
Sullivan holds a 3.90 GPA, is the school-record holder in the pole vault, a PSAC Champion and an All-American. She broke her own indoor record multiple times this season, capping her season with her first PSAC title and a seventh place finish at the NCAA Championships for All-America First Team honors.
 
Her indoor school-record set at nationals stands at 12-10.
 
Sullivan was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team last year, one of 12 females in the region to earn the award. She is a communication design major has earned Dean's List honors in each of her seven semesters at KU. She is a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete and a D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner. She has also been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team twice.
 
In the pole vault, Sullivan is a five-time USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region honoree and finished in the top-three at PSACs four times for All-PSAC honors. At the PSAC Championships, she has finished in the top-five in each of her seven appearances.
 
Sullivan is the first KU female indoor track & field PSAC Top 10 recipient since Laura Kline in 2006.
 
To be a candidate for the Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
