Box Score Indiana (PA) 2, Kutztown 0 (HTML Box Score)INDIANA, Pa. – Two second half goals by Indiana University (PA) downed the Kutztown University field hockey team on Saturday morning in a 2-0 setback on the road in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game.
Neither team saw many offensive opportunities in the first half as the Crimson Hawks led the shot count, 3-0. Kutztown allowed a goal in the opening five minutes of the second half off a corner, and a second in the 64th minute off a scramble in front of the cage.
Goalkeeper
Kayla Denlinger (Manheim, Pa./Hempfield) got the start in net for the Golden Bears and notched three saves. Indiana (PA) fired seven more shots overall with a 12-5 advantage.
Junior
Anna Behm (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) tallied three of Kutztown's five shots, but was unable to score for the first time in seven games this season. Her scoring streak ends at six games, tying her for the longest streak in recorded school history (dating back to 1990) with KU Hall of Famer Shannon Daggett in 1997, and Kelley Healey in 2007.
Tia Barndt and Haley Fidler were the two goal scorers for the Crimson Hawks, as goalkeeper Darian Shuker recorded the shutout with three saves.
The Golden Bears wrap up their three-game road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 1 with a 4:30 p.m. matchup against non-conference foe Mercy College.
