RESULTS
KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team defeated Mansfield, while falling to Bloomsburg and Edinboro in a PSAC quad meet hosted by Edinboro on Saturday afternoon.
Lauren Galetto (Vineland, N.J./Sacred Heart) took first in the 200-yard fly at 2:15.68, qualifying for the PSAC Championships, in addition to her 100-yard fly qualifying time of 1:01.57, good for a fourth-place finish.
Also finishing in the top five of their races include
Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) and
Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern). Davies completed the 50-yard free with a time of 25.71, good for third, and the 100-yard free with a time of 56.59 to round out the top five in fifth. Bleiler also rounded out the top five in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.23.
Other individual top-five finishes featured a fourth-place effort from
Elizabeth Metz (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) in the 1,000-yard free (11:25.98) along with her fifth-place finish in the 500-yard free (5:31.18), a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke by
Natalie Carr (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) at 1:13.03, and a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard IM by
Jess Mape (Camp Hill, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) (2:19.06).
The relay teams continued their consistent performances by taking third in the 200-yard medley and fourth in the 200-yard free. The 200-yard medley team of Mape, Bleiler, Galetto and Carr finished at 1:56.48 while the 200-yard free team of Davies, Galetto, Metz, and
Rachael Burke (Barnesville, Pa./Mahanoy Area) combined to finish in 1:48.74.
The Golden Bears get back to action when they travel to LIU Post on Saturday, November 10, to compete against the Pioneers starting at 1:00 p.m.
