RESULTS
KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- The Kutztown University women's swim team won all three of their dual meets at home, beating Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rivals Bloomsburg, 139.50-122.50, Edinboro, 195-66, and Mansfield, 219-37, in a quad at Keystone Pool on Saturday afternoon.
Eight Golden Bear swimmers won individual events and the Kutztown 'A' squad consisting of
Allison Sheely (Enola, Pa./Trinity),
Heather Wolkom (Rumson, N.J./Rumson Fair-Haven Regional ),
Nikki Hinsdale (Glen Mills, Pa./Bayard Rustin) and
Lauren Malloy (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1 minute, 42.28 seconds.
Senior
Steph Jeppesen (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) won three individual events. She placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.79. In the 200-yard breaststroke, she finished in 2:28.00 and in the 200-yard Individual medley she finished in 2:12.04.
Also winning three individual races was
Jordan Shapiro (Yardville, N.J./Princeton). Shapiro won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.67. She also won the 50-yard freestyle (25.58) and 200-yard backstroke (2:11.86).
Kerry Choplin (Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford) won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:52.29, while Wolkom won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:17.58.
The Golden Bears will travel to Indiana (Pa.) to compete in a PSAC double dual against the host Crimson Hawks and Mansfield on Saturday, Nov. 14. They return home on Nov. 20-21 to host the Golden Bear Invitational.
